Live Music - Performer Bio's
Steve Maxwell
Currently, Steve play in clubs as a “one man band”. He uses Cakewalk Sonar software running on a laptop to control 5 electronic music synthesizers. The computer plays up to 23 background parts like keyboards, bass, drums, horns, strings, even some orchestral arrangements while Steve plays guitar and sings along. He also has the latest technology in vocal harmonizers that adds up to four background vocal harmonies. Steve programs the software so that the background tracks are in the right key for the song he is singing. He has also added controls to the computer based songs so that guitar volume and tone both change automatically as he plays. This way, he can appear to play 2 or 3 different guitar parts in one song. Steve Maxwell always plays at a level where conversations can still be had. No ringing ears after one of Steve's shows.
Jeff Libman
Jeff's music has been compared to everyone from David Wilcox, John Gorka and Shawn Colvin to James Taylor and Loggins and Messina. He is currently at work on a CD and has recently published his first book.
He performed regularly with Deb Lader of the well-known Chicago band, The Sons of the Never Wrong, before playing guitar for Alice Peacock. Then it was time for his own music to come center stage. Writing more than 30 songs in the last few years, he has captured audiences with his unique brand of new folk and soul. Always putting on an entertaining and engaging show - which includes the percussive talents of his audience - Jeff weaves his lyrics through astute insights of the human condition: from politics to love, mystery to hope, children's songs to ballads, and driving pop hooks to poignant stories, while his melodies, rhythms and voice keep audiences entranced.
